Hola friends,
Its been a week since we met here. Just so you know๐.
Welcome baaack!!
Its funny that I had to come this far with personality typing. You can't believe I did, right? I am equally shocked. We are saying "irriz what irriz". I am probably your favourite psychologist here...haha.
If you are new here don't trust that previous line too much.
On we go all the same.
This week we delve into three personalities bordering each other in the Enneagram; the Twos, Threes and Fours. These are known as the heart or image triad. They resonate much with what they feel rather than thought or the gut.
To this point I have no original description of a Three really but the story given in the book, The Road Back To You by Ian Morgan Cron always springs up on thought of a Three who is also known as Performer or Achiever.
In the book the author talks about this guy who always dwelled on what he had achieved long ago. He would bring it up in every conversation he had. He would go on and on about how he met famous people and had such a position that no one could have at the time. I'd liken it to our parents' narrative of how they walked before they got to school when they were young or the part that they say they would always top the class and you wonder who in their village would flop.
A typical Three, in a rather unhealthy state will achieve something and dwell on it for like a century not noticing how fast time moves and they need to get to something else. While it is healthy and good to achieve we mustn't stay there, we have to keep going- that is what healthy Threes know.
Threes always want to be noticed. They are the ones who have interacted with all leaders in school, in the counties, in the country and in whole wide world (in their narratives). It is said that when younger, these people used to be applauded for performing well or doing things right so they always want to be applauded even in their later years.
I just learnt that most people who like showing off their abs and figures(call them curves) might probably be Threes and I am quite convinced. Let's not lie, they are also physically blessed with beauty and those perfect body builds, so they are well justified to floss and flex.
I had mentioned in my previous post that the world probably consists of more Threes and Sixes, remember? It's your time to judge from the instances you've interacted with Sixes or Threes. Is the study dependable? I will be waiting for your thought on that.
The best part about Threes is their ability to camouflage whenever and in whichever setting they find themselves. You'll find Threes almost everywhere, in the media, in firms as sales persons, politicians, guards et cetera.
Onto Ennaegram Four. This one I can quite relate to because as an unhealthy One I at times move to the traits of an unhealthy Four. Fours or Romantics or Individualists are the most 'into my feelings' people. They know themselves too well and can describe indepthly what they feel. Most of the times they will find themselves in the sadness that they only know how to explain.
A Four craves for uniqueness. He or she wouldn't want to dress like the rest of us or perform like the rest of us. They have a deep conviction that they are too unique to be likened to others. They will look for unique cloth brands, books, songs, wall hangings, name it; all for uniqueness sake.
Won't you ask why Fours are referred to as Romantics?
It is not in the literal form that they are romantic according to Ennaegram but it is in line with their nature and nurturing. In their earlier years they might have been abandoned, bereaved of parents who cared and treated them so well or their siblings might have diverted their parents love from them. In turn, they seek to separate themselves and seek a figure that loves as deeply as they were once loved. It is a whole wonder that they might have trouble being romantics in relationships;they stay in love then lose it at a certain point in time.
A few weeks ago, I was so fascinated to learn that the last set of people love chocolates to the extend that I asked someone if she did like chocolates so that I can put her in a type Two box, like a specimen๐;I now know better.
You can type people in your head but don't go telling them this or that is your type, it's also so childish๐. But out of excitement or is it fascination, I did tell people here and there, what I thought their Ennaegram type was. I would also say, the typing is for the individual as they know themselves better than you who is trying to confine them there.
Ooopsie!I deviated a whole mile.
We're on Enneagram Two. The Helper.
Twos are helpers in the sense that they are always on the look out to see who needs their help. They will offer anything just to help you who is in need. The sad thing with them is that they don't usually know when they need to be helped and when they think they know they need help they make a big deal out of it. The big deal breeds from the fact that they expect people to know their needs just as they know other people's. These people have a 'needy people scanner', they are just so talented! How this came about in their childhood I'll request you to go find out and I am sure you will be happy you did.
Twos are the most philanthropic of all Enneagram types, they do not struggle much to give. It is their nature. As children, they probably, shared their lunches or give it all to the needy. They know what other people feel but it is somewhat hard for them to interpret their own feelings.
What the Two craves is people's gratitude for their help. They help but if one isn't as grateful as they ought to, it paves way for World War III. Their help is conditional at times, especially when unhealthy. It must be appreciated the Two ladies make the most caring and adorable mothers in our society.
There is so much to say about each of these Enneagram types in the heart triad. Being no expert, I recommend the book, The Enneagram: The Christian Perspective by Richard Rohr and Andreas Erbert then, you will have all the data at your disposal.
It's been my time.
Ciao.
