Into the deep stuff now.
We are probably taking a deep dive into the Enneagram.
A little more buying into the idea by that Christian monk, Evagrius. You can Google that up because I am not about to have it all here.😎
It is okay if you have not bought into Enneagram yet, you can critique too. A free space to do so is yours. Have a grand time!
So, if you have been keen to go into the Enneagram you probably know the features identifying each of the nine types. Each of the nine has characteristics unique yet common or well identifiable with any human being. With each we get to see the best of their characters and with there being a 'best', there is definitely a worst somewhere. If not worst, lets say negative just before you give up with these generalizations.
In a bid not to bore you, we will go through a pair today. 😊
For the longest time I had trouble not finding mistakes in what other people did or had. My opinion had to have a 'but' or just going straight out to discredit the person's effort. Ask me,"how do I look?" the answer would be,"you look good but you would look better without that red scarf". It is like an automated 'but' machine! It never missed and if it did, I had really tried swallowing it. Something of that sort. It has always etched me later of how harshly I would judge.
In my various visitations to people's spaces, I would first notice what is amiss. Don't hide anything yet, I will also notice that you are hiding something and how bad that makes you look. I might not say it out loud but it will ache heart deep just because that one thing is amiss. It might not be that big a deal. It might not even affect what I went to do at the place let alone the earth rotating...haha. I might have given fake credit trying to silence the inner critic.
You might not be in favour of doing things as written out in the manual but I will carefully do that for you. I will offer to read the manual cover to cover for you so that you have your tool or machine well in place. Yes, I was one of those pupils who would rule the mathematics book and look into the neatness the teacher advised. The obedience would be mostly out of fear and in my bid to be the good pupil; even though we good pupils weren't rewarded. Some random applaud here and there from parents or teachers would make up for the efforts towards being a good child or pupil.
Who doesn't see how self righteous I have already sounded in those preceding paragraphs?
It is our weakness. It is how we were taught, what we were cultured into and how we determined to turn out. We are always running here and there trying to make the world a better place, if perfect is better, why not have it? We have no problem seeing the right and the wrong, our gut already has all that figured out for us. We will quickly follow rules and have the hardest time to keep staying with people who constantly break rules.
If you cannot take life or anything as seriously as we do you might not auger so well with us. Yes we are a community, just in case you are wondering. I wouldn't be alone in this. I in fact already have precise examples. I would easily say that I got this from my grandfather but well, it is just how I was taught and how I learnt to view the world from a tender age. We do grow into what we are constantly told to be or are made to admire.
The community I am referring to is that of Enneagram type One, the Reformer or Perfectionist. That is how they view the world 24/7 and they have that inner gut feeling that that is the right way to do.
Nelson Mandela had such inner build that identifies him as a Reformer, see how a great leader he turned out? You of course can be great no matter the type you land at, there is just a uniqueness you will have with you that someone of a different type won't have.
From the look of things, we Ones would better be Sevens. Sevens look at the positives instead of what is amiss. They always see the silver lining in all things no matter how bad it actually is. A One will not put up with the bad, if it is bad it will remain so, the Seven will decorate and spice the whole thing to make it feel less and less bad or out rightly good.
I have a type Seven friend, this person will make you easily see that things are just good and not as bad. She will rarely complain about work as long as you don't limit her. She will make friends with everyone, I mean everyone. When put in a position to lead she will easily ease into being friends and not bossing others around.
Sevens enjoy, crave and value happiness. If they would do anything to be happy all through their lives, they would be all in. They are so adventurous and are thrilled by the next good and fun thing. Here we have the great actor Jackie Chan and comedian Stephen Colbert.
Sevens are the Optimists and Adventurers or Entertainers.
For Ones you may look into the mistakes here, lets meet in the comment section.🅣🅗🅐🅝🅚🅢. Having that spoonful of information, you could keep digging in for more about your own personality.
It will shock you how much is written about you that you are yet to read 🤣.
In the spirit of reading, go check out Beatrice Chestnut's book, 9 Types of Leadership and you can have a little listen into what she says here.
Be good and watch out for the next amazing read.

Definitely a seven😁😁

ReplyDeleteLove is powerful because we are told without love then all we do is nothing.
