To this point I am sure there are people who still won't take anything about that Ennaegram typing. I won't blame them and I am neither shaming them nor calling them out.
I am just a little bit concerned.
For the Christian it might be 'it's only God who decides who I am' that is keeping them from going into it. For some it might be, 'I already know who I am'.
Well and good, it is of no use forcing ideas, something they say about taking the cow to the river and not forcing it to... You're right!
We are in week three of our study๐. Just in case you didn't notice.
Welcome back to my blog (insert your favourite YouTuber's voice) .
Thank you.
You might have heard your friend utter the following as he or she told stories of their past or childhood, "I used to look forward to seeing my father come back home. I would read and try to figure out his mood from afar. I would look out for a smile or a drunken stagger, that would pretty much let me into how I would react and how I would have him welcome back home or just go hide in my room."
If that is not the narrative you got, your friend might have insinuated that they had loving parents or guardians but due to either illness or any other factor that affects the relationship, the person wasn't well attended to and learnt to grow distant and in fear and not trusting the parents or guardians.
This trust issue builds up for them and is so 'configured' so to speak that by the time they get to let you in, like in their social circles, mental or whatever other space you will have worked hard and it might have taken a long time.
That is an exact or a close to true statement of an Enneagram type 6.
I at this point apologize if I insinuated that one can either be type One or Seven in my second post; one can be any type from One to Nine in the Enneagram, it so happens that some characteristics are common or shared these are qualities we all might have but might be preeminent with a certain type in the Ennaegram.
Had to hide the apology here for you to feel how sorry I am๐.
Back to what we were saying...
With type 6, they have a challenge trusting people. Should I say they also have a challenge accepting new ideas. They have to think about something for some time before giving feedback. Sometimes, their answers are not even straightforward. You may ask them how you look and they will answer you with "...it depends... " They like to be informed by several sides of a single story. To them, the opinion on how you look might depend on the weather, where you are going, how good or bad you feel, who and what you dressed up for, why you want to have their opinion and so much more.

According to research, the world at the moment might be composed of more Sixes than the rest of the types. Okay, Sixes and Threes. We'll look into Threes later and you'll have your chance to either commit to the research or raise a contrast.
Till then...
Sixes may feel that their parents are inadequate or do not understand them enough. They may have tried to build their trust enough in their parents but are drawn into looking for better figures that are more reliable and more trustworthy than their parents, especially their dads.
It is said that Sixes may have been affected by the presence or the absence of their dads in childhood. How true that is, I don't know!
Sixes are Loyalists and are the best of friends one can have as they do not give it all away on someone that easily. They stay true to the friendship and as their tag suggests, they are mostly loyal.
These Loyalists of ours ๐are the best people to have when in a bad situation;they take time to process the bad that could happen in the friendship and in any scenario (before the actual situation), when they are sure they can deal with it they let themselves be involved all clock through!
This is such an amazing strength that other types do not have.
They tend to be very calm even when bad things happen because they were already prepared mentally and sometimes physically to deal with it. Don't be surprised when they say they knew it would happen or when they act too calm in that unsettling place; it is their weakness, haha. You'll have them carry all those 'just in case' things for whatever reason they do, we just need to let them be.
Sixes have two wings like any other Ennaegram type; the 6 wing 7 and 6 wing 5. Both ends are good and have their distinct way of being identified. What is quite unique with the sixes is that their sub-types may make them look like they are not even 6; all types have sub-types but they may not come out as strongly as they do in Sixes.
Their 3-sub-types are phobic, counter-phobic and social. The counter-phobic six approaches life with a readiness for what he or she fears just as the name suggests (let's call that a black), the phobic approaches life in fear, just that, (white) and the social approaches life midway the two, ready to fight and still in fear(grey). I hope you see why we were using colours to denote them. Incredible!
Did I mention that these are the best people to have on the management of a firm? Now you know. This is true as they are able to predict trends so well and are really, naturally thinkers, they dwell on the head(mind) and it's their best informant.
So, while Ones are in the gut and rely on instincts or what their gut tells them, Sixes think.
Still and all thinking is their strength, it is advisable for them to also have their gut take control every so often. They ought to be vulnerable with their heart (feelings) not just their thoughts or knowledge.
That would be all on sixes from me.
I am sure it would interest you to hear from a panel who go deeply into describing what it is like to be Six. Here's where you get to listen to them. You can skip to the point where Noah speaks and you'll be happy you watched; not discouraging you from listening and watching the whole video though.
It's been my time.
Let's meet for the next amazing read.
Bye.

Great read as usual!
